10/07/2008 - Netball Scotland AGM Golden Coach and Umpire Awards

Congratulations to Daz Frielick who won Senior Club Coach of the Year and Jeannie Garing who won Club Umpire of the Year at the recent Netball Scotland AGM.

Daz has worked hard to establish Edinburgh Netball Club as coach to the Club. Daz has had to use varied coaching approaches to a Club with various levels. In her time, she has won CENA League, third in Kukri National League, semi final Scottish Cup.

Jeannie has shown immense commitment to her Club umpiring continuously over the past season as well as supporting Edinburgh District and other Leagues and competitions throughout the year making Jeannie a deserved winner of this Award.

29/06/2008 - Edinburgh school wins Junior Scottish Cup

The 2nd year team from Craigmount High School achieved a first at the Scottish Cup Netball Finals at Linwood when they became the first Edinburgh school team at any age group to win a Scottish Cup. On their way to the final they played against teams from Peebles, Clydebank, Paisley, East Kilbride, Dunfermline and Glenrothes. It was a nail biting final with extra time and sudden death, ending 32-31. Congratulations to Anne Hamilton and the girls (Ellen Atkinson, Maddie Atkinson, Katherine Burnett, Joanna Coxon, Kirsty Gaul, Shona McDonald, Yvette Rosie, Sarah Roxburgh, Erin Thomson and Lizzie Welham).
