Frequently Asked Questions

  • Am I too old?
  • Rec is for all ages, as long as you’re willing to wear a rather attractive bib then you can play!
  • Rec aims to cater for people over the age of 16 years old.

  • I haven’t played since school, is it ok if I come along?
  • You don’t need to be a pro-netballer to come to rec, it’s there to open the sport up to everyone who is interested in it!
  • Rec is not a club and as such the format of rec is not based around training for a game, but for having fun playing a great sport.
  • I don’t have a team, can I come as an individual player?
  • There are no set teams at rec. Players can play in any position they want and the teams are different each week.
  • As well as having fun rec aims to develop the skills of everyone who attends, both as an individual and as a member of a team.
  • I’ve never played netball – can i come?
  • We warmly welcome new players to this wonderful sport! But it should be mentioned that rec does not run drills to teach the basics – the current format is simply to develop players by playing short games.
  • It is hoped that eventually there may be a second night which could focus on running drills and set-plays to develop players abilities.
  • Do I have to play in skirt?
  • You can wear whatever you want (you do HAVE to wear clean trainers), but we suggest shorts and a t-shirt......and a good sports bra!!!
  • How much does it cost?
  • The session runs for an hour and a quarter and costs £3, which is paid to the individual running the session each week.
