Our Governance

The City of Edinburgh Netball Association (CENA) is committed to operating with transparency, integrity, and strong governance. As a community‑focused organisation, we ensure that every decision we make supports the growth, safety, and sustainability of netball across Edinburgh.

CENA is structured to provide clear leadership, accountable decision‑making, and open communication with our members, clubs, volunteers, umpires, and partners.

CENA as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO)

CENA is proud to operate as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). This charitable status strengthens our legal and governance framework and ensures we meet the standards set by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

As a SCIO, we:

  • Operate under an approved Constitution
  • Are governed by a Board of Trustees who act in line with charity law
  • Maintain transparent financial and operational practices
  • Publish key documents and policies for our members
  • Prioritise safeguarding, equality, and the wellbeing of everyone involved in our sport

Our SCIO structure ensures that CENA remains a safe, inclusive, and well‑governed organisation where players, coaches, umpires, and volunteers can thrive.
